Brilliant museum. So interesting. Did vaults and roof tour with Glynne who was very knowledgeable. Then met Wendy Cole on second floor explaining in detail Roman artefacts which you could handle. Well kept castle grounds and a pleasant 5k Park Run.

We went on the tour. It was great fun and lots of information. The museum had a very good selection of items well presented. Interactive for the whole family

If you visit the castle, it's worth having the guided tour.

Very nice experience. 12£ adults. Is very much worth for an additional 4 £/pp to do the tour with the tour guide to get full experience and see and hear something otherwise not available (acces to the voults). The garden next to the castle (castle park) is very nice, and it must be quite impressive when everything blooms .

Impressive exterior but gutted interior. There are interesting exhibits.

I visited with my 6 year old for half term. I will say that I am disappointed with how uninengaging this is for children. There are hardly any displays that make it fun for children. I also think that for the price of £7.50 there should be more options. I was given a option to spend another £5 for a tablet to use to make it more interesting however I think it ridiculous that you need to do that. When I go to other places they provide activities for children to do. As a result we were there less than 30 minutes as my daughter was completely not engaged. Basically only go with small children if you are prepared to pay extra and I would not take small children there as a waste of money. Disappointing 😞

Dogs are not only banned from the building, but even from the public park, which surrounds it. Dog owners are advised to carry on to St. Edmunds, where dogs are even welcomed inside the cathedral, and the gardens that surround it.

The museum is an excellent, hands-on experience for kids, but also rich in historic information for adults. We sort much longer there than we anticipated because there was so much to see. A highlight of our trip.

What a brilliant experience! Staff were amazing! Definitely recommend doing the tour so check in advance for timings. I think it's on the hour, so you can start your visit to the museum while waiting for the tour to start. Our tour guide Roseanna (really hope I didn't butcher her name) was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller! All in all, don't miss out. Not too far from London.

It's not that great but I think it would be better if the staff was a bit more helpful 😐
